IAAD at the Stampede

The Greatest Outdoor Show on earth, the 2026 Calgary Stampede!

It’s historic 10-day outdoor rodeo, midway rides and games, and star-studded concerts didn’t disappoint as Calgary’s annual premier event and Infinite Abilities Assistance Dogs, IAAD, was there to celebrate!

Some of our canine companions in training took in the kick-off parade, while others enjoyed the sights, sounds and smells of the iconic pancake breakfast that could be found all week long, hosted by many businesses and communities. Nothing brings Cowtown together, like pancakes and sausage!

While our IAAD dogs were out putting their best paw forward to showcase their proper public behaviour, they took in many stimulating environments, broadening their training opportunities and diverse experiences. The Calgary Stampede is very busy and our dogs gained important training in duration, loose leash walking, and greeting strangers.

While all the action and activity were happening, the toughest lesson of all was, ‘don’t pick up the sausage off the ground’! It’s hard being a dog sometimes, but all IAADs training is fostering superior assistance dogs who do get the appropriate treat, love and affection!
